Lucky is single action .357 Magnum revolver in Fallout: DUST.

Characteristics[]

While not dealing exceptionally large amounts of damage per hit, Lucky sports a substantially higher rate of fire than the more powerful Police Pistol, but is slightly slower than the less powerful.357 Magnum revolver.

With .357 Magnum ammunition being comparably common in the Mojave, this weapon provides good value, especially since it can be repaired with any .357 Revolver type weapon.

As the name implies, Lucky increases the chances of the Survivor landing a lucky hit dealing critical damage substantially.

Wearing apparel increasing the Critical Hit Chance for all weapons, like the Marked Beast Face Helmet, can bring the Critical Hit Chance of other weapons allmost on par with Luckys, but at the cost of added weight.

Of the (at least) two available copies, Jim Harding carries one, which can be looted from him.

Locations[]

  • Jim Harding near El Dorado Dry Lake
  • Hard locked safe behind the counter of the shop in the Bison Steve in Primm

Notes[]

  • Luckys Critical Chance multiplier of 2.5, might be of interest to Survivors relying on critical hits, especially when combined with the Marked Beast Face Helmet
  • At an Action Point cost of only 17, compared to 26 of the .357 Magnum Revolver and 19 of the Police Pistol, this weapon is also an interesting alternative for VATS builds
  • With 225 health, Lucky is just as durable as the Police Pistol, with both being slighty more durable than the .375 Magmun Revolver ar 200 health (the .357 revolver HD cylinder modification is bugged in Fallout: New Vegas, with the bug also present in Fallout: DUST)
  • As in Fallout: New Vegas, Lucky can not be modified, but comes with the long barrel modification allready installed, raising its damage by +3
  • The more commonly (compared to Lucky) available Volcanic Pistol deals more damage per shot, but has a lower health and thus has to be repaired more often

Behind the Scenes[]

DUST reuses Lucky from Fallout: New Vegas, while slightly changing its characteristics.
